Milkloft for exclusive pumpers
When you exclusively pump, the stash is not a safety net, it is the feed. Every bag is one your baby will actually drink, the volume is large enough that no one remembers it, and it rarely fits in one freezer. Milkloft is built for exactly that: one inventory across every place you keep milk, an order to use it in, and an estimated limit on every bag from the guideline you chose.
In short
Every date is an estimate from a published guideline, not a safety verdict.
A day with Milkloft
- You log the session in about ten seconds Amount, time and place, with the last entry as the default. One session can become two or three bags, each with a four-letter code you write on the bag.
- The bag gets a place, not a guess Main freezer, garage deep freezer, grandmother’s house: each is its own location with its own total, so "how much is where" stops being a memory exercise.
- The app names the bag to thaw tonight Thawed milk first, then the fridge, then the oldest frozen bag. You do not have to read dates through frost to run FIFO.
- Once a week, you look at the front of the stash The expiring filter shows what is closest to its estimated limit. With Pro, the forecast says when the stash runs out and when the freezer fills.

What Milkloft does not do
It is worth saying before you spend an evening moving your stash into it. Milkloft does not time your pumping sessions and does not talk to your pump, so if the feature you are missing is a timer, this is not the app that solves it. It is iPhone only. It tracks the milk, not the baby: no sleep, no diapers, no growth charts. And it is a record of your stash, not a judgement about your supply, which is a conversation for your IBCLC.
What it does instead is the part that gets heavy at volume: knowing what you have, where it is, what comes out next, and what would expire before you reached it. If that is the part that keeps you up, this is the right page.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a breast milk app made for exclusive pumping?
Milkloft is built around the stash rather than around the baby: every bag has a place, an estimated limit and a position in the use-first order. It does not time your sessions, so if a pump timer is the feature you want, it is not the app for that.
How many bags can I track?
Twenty active bags on the free tier, and no limit with Pro. Bags you have already used, donated or discarded stop counting as active, so the limit is about what is in your freezer right now.
Can I keep two freezers, or milk at a relative’s house, in one inventory?
Yes. Each place is a location with its own contents and its own totals, five of them free and no limit with Pro. The dashboard adds them up, and the use-first order runs across all of them at once.
Does it work if I pump many times a day?
That is the case it was optimised for. One session can be split into several bags in the same entry, each with its own four-letter code, and the last entry becomes the default for the next one.
Will it tell me when my stash runs out?
Pro projects a run-out date and a freezer-full date from what you actually log, and flags the bags that would reach their estimated limit before you get to them. Free shows the current totals and roughly how many days of stash they represent.
